About Me
I am a working mother based in Norfolk, England. Like many other mums with young children, I was keen to get back to work yet still wanted to get a good work/life balance with my family. Since the birth of my daughter in 2002, I would often make fairytale images of her: from babyhood onwards. Friends and family loved the images I made, and this prompted me to think about whether I could turn this into something more than a hobby.
About 100 years ago (well, that's what it feels like!) I studied art & design at college, but then went on to have a career mainly in theatre marketing and publishing. I have never totally left behind my "artistic" side, however, and have spent time working as both a copywriter and designer.
After much thought, planning, and general mulling over (or "not getting on with it" as my husband claims) I decided the time was right to put things into action. Having created pictures for my own family and friends, I think I can honestly say that I know what that extra attention to detail can achieve when putting together a portrait of a loved one. It isn't just about getting it right, it's about getting it perfect. My aim is that my work will make people smile (and maybe even feel a bit weepy - but in the best possible way!) when they see the results of their order.
I've often been accused of being a perfectionist (which I think is a euphemism for "pain in the neck"?), but I can promise you that when it comes to working on your order I will use all those annoying perfectionist traits I have to produce something you will adore...
PhotoFairytales is constantly growing and evolving, with new ranges being added regularly. From the early beginnings with a small handful of portrait themes, there are now around 100 themes to choose from as well as lots of other great personalised gifts and invitations.
